Paris Saint-Germain have secured a place in the 2026 UEFA Champions League final after edging Bayern Munich 6-5 on aggregate in a thrilling semi-final encounter.
The French champions held Bayern to a 1-1 draw in the second leg at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night, having won the first leg 5-4 in Paris.
PSG made a dream start to the match when Ousmane Dembele scored in the third minute after a swift counterattack initiated by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Bayern dominated large spells of the game and pushed aggressively for an equaliser, but PSG’s disciplined defending and goalkeeping frustrated the German side throughout the encounter. Harry Kane eventually scored deep into stoppage time, but the goal came too late to prevent Bayern’s elimination.
PSG manager Luis Enrique praised his team’s resilience after the match, describing their character against Bayern as “so positive.”
The result sends PSG into their second consecutive Champions League final, where they will face Arsenal FC in Budapest on May 30.
The London club reached the final after overcoming Atletico Madrid 2-1 on aggregate in the other semi-final.
PSG will now aim to defend their European crown and cement their dominance in continental football under Luis Enrique’s leadership.
