Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested three suspected logistics suppliers linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a security operation in Borno State.

According to reports, the suspects were allegedly involved in providing logistical support to insurgent elements operating within the North-East region. Security sources said the arrests followed intelligence-led operations aimed at disrupting supply chains and support networks used by terrorist groups.

Authorities believe that logistics operatives play a critical role in sustaining insurgent activities by facilitating the movement of supplies, communication materials, and other resources required for operations. The arrests are therefore seen as part of broader efforts to weaken terrorist networks and limit their operational capabilities.

The development comes amid ongoing counterterrorism operations across Borno State and other parts of the North-East, where security agencies continue to target insurgent cells, financiers, recruiters, and supply networks linked to extremist groups.

Security analysts have repeatedly emphasized that dismantling logistical and financial support structures is essential to reducing the capacity of terrorist organizations to carry out attacks and sustain their activities.

While authorities have not disclosed the full identities of the suspects, investigations are said to be ongoing. Security agencies are expected to use information obtained from the arrests to identify additional members of the network and uncover further operational links.

The DSS and other security agencies have intensified intelligence gathering and coordinated operations in recent months as part of efforts to improve security and prevent attacks in affected communities.

Observers say the arrests highlight the importance of intelligence-driven security operations in combating insurgency and strengthening national security.

Further updates are expected as investigations progress and authorities provide additional details on the case.
