Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued five kidnap victims during a security operation in Kogi State, dealing another blow to criminal elements operating in the area.

The rescue followed a swift response by troops to a distress call after armed kidnappers abducted the victims. Security operatives immediately launched a coordinated pursuit, forcing the kidnappers to flee and abandon their captives.

The five victims were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with the appropriate authorities for medical evaluation and debriefing.

Military authorities said troops have intensified operations across affected communities and surrounding forests to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent further attacks.

The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, assuring residents that ongoing security operations would continue until criminal elements are completely neutralised.

The military also urged members of the public to support security agencies by providing timely and credible intelligence that could assist in combating kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes.

The latest operation underscores the military’s sustained efforts to improve security along major highways and vulnerable communities in Kogi State, where security agencies have continued to carry out clearance operations against criminal groups.
