The Labour Party governorship candidate in Abia State, Hon. Ceekay Igara, has congratulated Abians at home and in the diaspora on the state’s 35th anniversary, describing the milestone as an opportunity to celebrate the people’s resilience and renew the call for purposeful leadership.
In a statement issued by his media team on Wednesday, Igara praised Abia’s traders, farmers, professionals, artisans and public servants for their contributions to the state’s development and its reputation for enterprise, ingenuity and talent.
He said Abia’s greatest strength remained its people, urging residents to use the anniversary to reflect on the state’s progress while demanding leadership capable of translating its vast potential into tangible development.
“Thirty-five years on, Abia’s greatest asset remains her people, their resilience, ingenuity and refusal to be defined by setbacks. This anniversary must be more than commemoration; it must be a call to action for leadership that finally matches the potential of our people,” Igara said.
The Labour Party candidate said the David of Abia Campaign remained committed to promoting good governance, accountability, development and unity of purpose.
According to him, Abia’s next phase of development must prioritise opportunities for young people and create conditions for shared prosperity across the state.
Igara wished Abians a happy 35th anniversary and reaffirmed his commitment to building what he described as a stronger and more prosperous Abia for present and future generations.
