The Abia State Police Command has assured residents of adequate security before, during and after the Easter celebrations, pledging a peaceful and hitch-free observance across the state.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the command extended Easter greetings to Christian faithful, describing the season as a sacred period marked by reflection, renewal and the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
To ensure public safety, the police said a comprehensive operational strategy had been activated, with personnel strategically deployed to key locations, including major roads, worship centres and other public spaces.
The command noted that regular and coordinated patrols supported by both covert and overt operations are already underway to safeguard lives and property throughout the festive period.
Residents were urged to remain vigilant and security-conscious, with the police calling on members of the public to promptly report any suspicious movements or activities.
Emergency hotlines have also been provided to facilitate swift response to distress calls, as authorities emphasised the importance of community cooperation in maintaining law and order.
The statement, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring a safe and joyful Easter celebration for all residents of Abia State.
