Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembele has been named the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner, capping off an exceptional year in his career. The Frenchman edged out Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal to claim the most prestigious individual prize in football.
Dembele received the award in Paris from Brazilian legend Ronaldinho, a symbolic moment that highlighted the PSG star’s rise to the pinnacle of world football. He succeeds Manchester City midfielder Rodri, who lifted the trophy in 2024 ahead of Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.
On the women’s side, Aitana Bonmati of Barcelona once again proved her dominance by retaining the Women’s Ballon d’Or. The midfielder beat Arsenal duo Mariona Caldentey and Alessia Russo to secure back-to-back triumphs.

The 2025 edition of the Ballon d’Or further underscores the growing influence of both French talent on the men’s stage and Barcelona’s continued dominance in the women’s game.
