Barau Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, has rewarded players of Barau Football Club with 35 brand-new motorcycles and ₦17.5 million in celebration of the team’s historic promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the 2025/2026 season.
At a special reception held on Monday in Kano, Barau also unveiled Isah Ladan Bosso as the club’s new Technical Adviser. The event brought together the club’s management, officials, coaches, and players, marking another milestone in what has been an eventful period for the team since sealing promotion. Recently, Barau FC also introduced ten new signings as part of their preparation for life in the top flight.
In his remarks, the Deputy Senate President urged the players to embrace dedication, discipline, and hard work as they make their debut in Nigeria’s elite football division.
Speaking on behalf of the squad, Usman Maidubji expressed gratitude for Barau’s generosity and unwavering commitment to the development of Nigerian youths through sports.

Barau FC will kick off their maiden NPFL campaign with a tough fixture against nine-time champions Enyimba on August 22, 2025, in Kano.
