Mr. Emmanuel Ejezie, a tricycle operator popularly known in Aba as Keke, has been honored with an Award of Excellence by the Christian Association of Igbo Ministers (CAIM), Abia State Chapter, for his exemplary display of honesty and patriotism. The recognition follows his widely publicized act of integrity of returning the sum of N2.4 million forgotten by a passenger in his tricycle.

The award was presented during the official inauguration of CAIM, held at the Assemblies of God Church, 222 Clifford Road, Aba. The event was attended by prominent religious figures, including Apostle Kenneth C. Wiper, Special Assistant on Religious Matters to Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti.
CAIM is a non-denominational movement dedicated to uniting Igbo Christian leaders in the pursuit of socio-cultural and spiritual progress across Ala Igbo.
Apostle Solomon Okerie, the International President of CAIM, described Mr. Ejezie’s action as a rare embodiment of integrity and godliness, referencing the biblical proverb, “A good name is better than riches.”

“I am deeply proud of you, these are the kinds of people Ala Igbo needs, men and women of strong moral character. We’re honoring you publicly so others can emulate your example. On behalf of CAIM, we are also presenting your wife with a financial gift of N100,000 to support her business.”Apostle Okerie stated.
He encouraged citizens across Ala Igbo to adopt Mr. Ejezie’s exemplary conduct, pledging ongoing support to him and his family.

Mr. Ejezie attended the event with his family, friends, and members of the Abia State Tricycle Operators Union (ASTOPU), Aba Zone, led by the Chairman Mr. Victor Azubuike Chimgozirim. The union leadership praised his honesty and highlighted the challenge they faced in tracing him due to his lack of a mobile phone.

“Once we were contacted by those seeking to reward him, we began searching immediately, in an era where tricycle operators are often stereotyped negatively, Mr. Emmanuel Ejezie has brought honor to our union,” the chairman said.
Background of the Incident
The incident that brought Mr. Ejezie to public attention occurred at Ariaria International Market, Aba, where he returned N2.04 million to Mrs. Chika Aloysius-Iwu, a trader who inadvertently left the money in his tricycle after a ride.

Mr. Ejezie recounted that he had picked up Mrs. Aloysius-Iwu along Power Line Road and dropped her off near the Free Zone fish market. He was unaware she had left a bag behind until bystanders alerted him after it fell from his tricycle. Upon discovering the bag contained a large sum of money, he resisted attempts by others to tamper with it and took immediate steps to locate the rightful owner.
Providentially, Mrs. Aloysius-Iwu was already searching for him when they crossed paths again. Mr. Ejezie led her to the individual to whom he had temporarily entrusted the money for safekeeping, and she was reunited with her funds.
“I don’t know what to say to this man, I can only pray that God will bless him and his generations and show him mercy always.” Mrs. Aloysius-Iwu said emotionally.
The Ariaria T-Line Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Njoku (alias Ose), described the act as extraordinary and called on government bodies and influential Nigerians to recognize and reward such integrity.

Several political figures in Abia State, including Governor Alex Otti, are reportedly making arrangements to meet with Mr. Emmanuel Ejezie to personally commend his actions.
