The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has introduced a new online system allowing candidates seeking admission through the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to verify and upload their O’Level results without visiting Computer-Based Test centres.
The development is expected to make the admission process easier and reduce the pressure on CBT centres, particularly during periods of high patronage.
Under the new arrangement, JAMB will electronically verify candidates’ results directly with the relevant examination bodies before the results are uploaded to their profiles. The service currently covers results issued by the West African Examinations Council.
The Board said the initiative would also help address problems associated with manual uploads, including errors in entering subjects and grades, submission of fraudulent or unverified results and cases involving misplaced or mixed-up certificates.
How to verify your O’Level result
Candidates seeking to use the new service are required to obtain a Result Verification Code through the designated result verification platform.
The process involves the following steps:
- Provide your National Identification Number.
- Select the number of O’Level sittings.
- Select the relevant examination body or bodies.
- Provide your email address and GSM number.
- Make the required payment through the available payment gateway.
- Enter your examination number, examination series and examination year.
After the details have been successfully submitted and verified, JAMB will issue the candidate a Verification Code.
Candidates are then required to send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.
A notification will subsequently be sent to the candidate confirming the verification and submission of the result.
How to upload the verified result
Candidates who have two O’Level sittings can proceed to their JAMB e-Facility dashboard and select the “2026 UTME O’Level Upload” option.
They will be required to enter the Verification Code generated after the result verification process.
Once the code is accepted, the candidate’s verified results will be displayed on the platform.
Candidates can then select the subjects and grades required for their admission profile.
JAMB said candidates must select a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects, while no subject should be selected more than once.
The new system is part of JAMB’s broader digital transformation efforts aimed at reducing unnecessary physical visits to CBT centres and making admission-related services more accessible to candidates.
The development is particularly significant for candidates who previously had to visit CBT centres to complete O’Level result uploads, often resulting in queues, additional expenses and delays.
With the electronic verification system, JAMB can now cross-check candidates’ results against records held by the examination bodies before the information is uploaded to their profiles.
Candidates are, however, advised to provide accurate examination details and ensure that the information supplied during the verification process corresponds with their examination records.
The online process is expected to further strengthen the integrity of JAMB’s admission system while giving candidates greater control over important stages of their admission processing.
For 2026 UTME candidates, the development means that an important admission requirement can now be completed remotely, without the need to visit a CBT centre solely for O’Level result verification and uploading.
