Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has congratulated First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on her 66th birthday, commending her interventions in support of women, families, young Nigerians and vulnerable citizens.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, Kalu described the First Lady as the “Mother of the Nation” and praised what he described as her compassionate approach to public service.
He particularly commended her interventions across the country through the Renewed Hope Initiative, noting that her programmes had focused on women empowerment, support for vulnerable families and investment in young Nigerians.
Kalu also praised Senator Tinubu’s role in efforts to raise funds for the completion of the National Library of Nigeria.
The First Lady’s birthday education fund raised more than ₦25.5bn for the National Library project by the end of 2025, according to PUNCH.
Kalu described the initiative as an investment in the future, saying, “A nation that invests in its libraries invests in the minds of its children.”
The Deputy Speaker also described Tinubu as an inspiration to emerging leaders, citing her humility, strength and commitment to public service.
“At 66, we celebrate not only the gift of your life, but the countless lives that have been enriched by your generosity of spirit and commitment to service,” Kalu said.
He prayed for continued strength, good health and wisdom for the First Lady as she marks the milestone.
President Bola Tinubu also celebrated his wife on Monday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante” in a birthday message.
