Nine people have been confirmed dead and four others injured following a Boko Haram attack on Malam Fatori, a border community in Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State, located about 272 kilometres from Maiduguri.

In response, the Borno State Government, through a delegation led by the Commissioner for Local Government and Emirate Affairs, Hon. Sugun Mai Mele, visited the community on behalf of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, who is currently out of the country on official duty.

“We are here at the instance of His Excellency, Governor Zulum, to sympathize with the people of Malam Fatori over this tragic incident,” Mele stated. “The governor has assured that both the state government and the military will intensify efforts to secure the area.”
