President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reacted to the reported killing of a senior ISIS leader, describing the development as a major step in global counterterrorism efforts and expressing hope for more coordinated strikes against extremist groups.
Tinubu made the remarks while responding to reports of the successful operation carried out against the terrorist leader, whose death has drawn reactions from several world leaders and security agencies.
According to the Nigerian president, sustained military pressure and intelligence-driven operations remain critical in weakening terrorist organisations operating across different regions of the world.
“I look forward to more strikes,” Tinubu stated, while emphasising the need for continued international cooperation in combating terrorism and violent extremism.
The president noted that terrorist groups such as ISIS continue to pose serious threats to global peace, stability and economic development, particularly in vulnerable regions affected by insurgency and insecurity.

Security analysts have continued to warn that despite leadership losses, extremist organisations often attempt to regroup through regional affiliates and underground recruitment structures.
Nigeria has for years battled insurgent groups linked to extremist ideologies, particularly in the North-East, where military operations against terrorism remain ongoing.
The president maintained that sustained international coordination, intelligence sharing and strategic military actions remain essential in preventing the resurgence of terrorist networks worldwide.
