Residents of Port Harcourt Road in Aba were gripped by panic this evening following a serious accident involving a commercial motorcycle (Okada) and a private vehicle.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the incident occurred when the Okada rider, allegedly speeding, collided with the vehicle. At the time of the crash, the rider was carrying a young boy. Both sustained severe head injuries and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
In the wake of the incident, community members have voiced growing concerns over the increasing recklessness of Okada riders, particularly since the completion of the road’s reconstruction.
This latest accident has reignited public calls for stricter traffic regulations and more effective enforcement along the newly reconstructed Port Harcourt Road.
