Mikel Arteta has rejected suggestions that fatigue is behind Arsenal F.C.’s recent dip in form, insisting his players must take responsibility and raise their level.
Speaking after Arsenal’s disappointing 2–1 defeat to Bournemouth, the Spanish manager made it clear that the club’s demanding schedule cannot be used as justification for poor performances.
Arteta stressed that playing every few days is part of elite football, noting that his team must “embrace” the challenge rather than look for excuses. He also pointed to a lack of intensity and enjoyment in recent matches as a key concern.
“We’ve been playing so many games… and we’re going to have to continue,” he said, adding that the team must show the fight required to change difficult situations on the pitch.
The Gunners’ recent struggles include a Carabao Cup final defeat, an FA Cup exit, and inconsistent league performances raising questions about their ability to sustain a title challenge.
Despite these setbacks, Arteta has called for a strong response, urging his players to rediscover their rhythm and mentality as the season enters a decisive phase.
