A Federal High Court has granted bail to former Kaduna State governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai in an ongoing case involving allegations brought against him.
The court, sitting in Kaduna, admitted the former governor to bail after considering his application, marking a significant development in the legal proceedings.
Although details of the bail conditions were not fully disclosed, the ruling allows El Rufai to remain out of custody pending the continuation of his trial.

The case forms part of a series of legal challenges involving the former governor, who has recently faced investigations and charges linked to alleged financial and cyber related offences.
Earlier proceedings had seen delays in arraignment and disputes over bail eligibility, with the prosecution insisting that certain conditions must be met before such applications could be entertained.
Legal observers note that the granting of bail does not determine guilt or innocence but ensures the defendant’s right to freedom while trial continues.
The case has drawn national attention given El Rufai’s political profile and his role in Nigeria’s recent political developments.
