The All Progressives Congress has released its official timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, setting out key dates for the sale of forms, screening of aspirants, appeals, and primary elections across all levels of elective office — with presidential aspirants required to pay a combined total of ₦100 million for expression of interest and nomination forms.

The schedule was signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, and announced on Monday by National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka. The party stated that the timetable was issued in compliance with the 1999 Constitution as amended, the Electoral Act 2026, and the INEC revised timetable for the 2027 general elections.

According to the timetable, the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms will commence on Friday, 25th April 2026, and close on Sunday, 4th May, with the APC National Secretariat in Abuja serving as the designated point of sale. The deadline for the submission of completed nomination forms is also fixed for 4th May.

Screening of aspirants across all categories will be conducted between Wednesday 6th May and Friday 8th May, with results published on Monday 11th May. Aspirants dissatisfied with screening outcomes will have two days : Tuesday 12th May and Wednesday 13th May to file appeals before the party proceeds to its primary elections.

The presidential primary election is scheduled for Friday 15th May to Saturday 16th May. This will be followed by the House of Representatives primary on Monday 18th May, the Senate primary on Wednesday 20th May, the State House of Assembly primary on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd May, and the governorship primary on Saturday 23rd May.

Appeals arising from the primaries are also mapped out: presidential primary appeals on Monday 18th May, House of Representatives on Wednesday 20th May, Senate on Thursday 21st May, State House of Assembly on Saturday 23rd May, and governorship appeals on Monday 25th May bringing all primary-related appeals to a close by that date.

On the cost of forms, presidential aspirants will pay ₦30 million for expression of interest and ₦70 million for nomination, totalling ₦100 million. Governorship aspirants will pay ₦10 million and ₦40 million respectively, totalling ₦50 million. Senatorial aspirants face ₦3 million and ₦17 million, amounting to ₦20 million in total. House of Representatives aspirants will pay ₦1 million and ₦9 million, totalling ₦10 million, while State House of Assembly aspirants will pay ₦1 million and ₦5 million respectively, amounting to ₦6 million.

In a notable concession, the party announced that women, youths and persons with disabilities will only be required to pay for expression of interest forms plus 50 per cent of the applicable nomination form fees a measure aimed at expanding participation and reducing financial barriers for underrepresented groups.

Argungu said the APC was committed to conducting credible and transparent primaries that would strengthen internal democracy and consolidate the party’s progressive ideals.

The early release of the timetable is expected to give aspirants across the country sufficient preparation time and is widely seen as a signal that the ruling party is intent on commencing its 2027 electoral machinery well ahead of its opposition rivals.
