The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of 632,788 candidates who participated in the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with authorities issuing a strong warning against score manipulation.
In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the examination body confirmed that candidates who sat for the test on April 16 can now access their results through official channels.
Candidates were advised to check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to designated numbers using the same phone number used during registration. The board clarified that, for now, only result viewing is available, as printing of slips has not yet commenced.

JAMB cautioned candidates against tampering with the SMS notifications received from its official platforms, warning that altering or fabricating scores to mislead others constitutes a serious criminal offence.
The board disclosed that enforcement measures are already in place, revealing that two candidates and one parent have been taken into custody for allegedly falsifying results using artificial intelligence and other electronic means.
It reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on examination malpractice, stressing that anyone found guilty would face the full weight of the law.
JAMB also noted that the 2026 UTME is still ongoing across the country, adding that additional batches of results will be released progressively as marking and processing continue.
