Labour Party Dispute:Kennedy Ahanotu Breaks Silence as INEC Lists Rival Labour Party Presidential Candidate

Prince Kennedy Ahanotu, who identifies himself as the Labour Party Presidential Candidate and leader of the Future Now Movement, has appealed to his supporters and Nigerians to remain calm following the publication of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s list of presidential candidates.

In a statement released on Monday, August 3, 2026, Ahanotu acknowledged the concerns raised by party members, stakeholders, and supporters after INEC published a presidential candidate for the Labour Party amid an ongoing legal dispute over the party’s nomination.

According to him, the matter is currently before the Supreme Court of Nigeria, and all parties involved have chosen to respect the judicial process.

“The issues surrounding the Labour Party presidential nomination are presently before the Supreme Court of Nigeria. As responsible democrats who believe in constitutional governance and the rule of law, we have submitted ourselves to the authority of the nation’s highest court and await its final judgment with confidence and respect.” He said

Ahanotu urged members of the Labour Party, coordinators, volunteers, and supporters of the Future Now Movement not to be discouraged by speculation or misinformation, emphasizing that the publication by INEC should be viewed within the context of an ongoing judicial process.

He stressed that the development does not diminish his confidence in Nigeria’s judiciary or his commitment to democratic principles.

The Labour Party chieftain also encouraged Nigerians to remain peaceful, disciplined, and focused while awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision.

“Our movement has never been about one individual alone. It is about restoring hope to millions of families, rebuilding our economy, securing our nation, creating opportunities for our youth, and ensuring that government truly works for every Nigerian,” he said.

Expressing confidence in the judiciary, Ahanotu said he believes the Supreme Court will discharge its constitutional responsibility with fairness, wisdom, and fidelity to the law.

He thanked supporters across the country for their continued prayers, donations, volunteer efforts, and commitment to the Future Now Movement, describing their support as the driving force behind the movement.

Reaffirming the movement’s ideals of truth, integrity, competence, and service, Ahanotu maintained that temporary political developments would not derail its mission.

He concluded by expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future, saying the journey toward national renewal continues and that the country’s best days are still ahead.
