The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that it has officially begun processing requests from 110 political associations seeking registration ahead of the 2027 general elections, including the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), a coalition-backed platform.

This development comes just a day after INEC stated that ADA had not yet fulfilled the conditions for registration. However, in a statement on Wednesday, INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, confirmed that ADA is among the associations now under review.

He noted that all applications, except six recently received, have been acknowledged and processing is underway in line with the law and the Commission’s 2022 Regulations and Guidelines.

Prof. Yakubu encouraged interested groups to consult the official INEC handbook available on the Commission’s website for clear guidance on party registration procedures.
