The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that his political camp has endorsed only President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, dismissing speculations of backing other candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wike made this known while addressing a joint gathering of stakeholders from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at his residence in Abuja.
He insisted that contrary to rumours making the rounds, he has not endorsed any aspirant for governorship or any other elective position, particularly in Rivers State.
According to him, his support for Tinubu remains the only political position taken so far, stressing that it has been consistent both publicly and privately.

The former Rivers State governor cautioned politicians against spreading false claims of endorsement, warning that no individual or group has been given such backing within his political structure.
Wike also emphasized that the era of imposing candidates in Rivers State is over, noting that no governor or political actor would be allowed to dictate leadership choices in the state.
He urged stakeholders across party lines to remain united, warning that internal divisions driven by personal ambition could weaken their collective political strength.
The minister further stated that the current alliance of stakeholders was built on cooperation and shared interests, adding that external forces were already working to destabilise the group.
Wike’s latest comment comes amid increasing political realignments and early permutations ahead of the 2027 general elections, where President Tinubu is widely expected to seek re-election.
