President Tinubu departing for France, to Begin Three-Nation Diplomatic Tour

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja for France, marking the beginning of a three-nation diplomatic tour aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s international partnerships and attracting investment.

The trip will also take the President to Kenya and Rwanda, where he is scheduled to participate in high-level engagements with global and African leaders.

In France, Tinubu is expected to hold strategic discussions with key stakeholders before proceeding to Nairobi to attend the Africa-France Summit, co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto.

The summit, scheduled for May 11–12, will focus on critical issues including energy transition, digital transformation, climate action, and economic cooperation between Africa and France.

Following the Kenya engagement, the President will travel to Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum, slated for May 14–15, where business leaders and policymakers will deliberate on strategies for accelerating economic growth and investment across the continent.

According to official statements, Tinubu is expected to use the platforms to present Nigeria’s economic reforms, attract foreign investment, and strengthen bilateral and multilateral partnerships.

He is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with top global and African business leaders during the tour, accompanied by senior government officials and aides.

The visit underscores Nigeria’s diplomatic push to reposition itself as a key player in global economic and political discussions, particularly as competition for investment and strategic alliances intensifies.

President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding engagements in Rwanda.
