Governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have given President Bola Tinubu a 100 percent performance rating, praising his administration’s reforms and describing him as the founder of a “new Nigeria.”
The endorsement came during a high-profile visit by members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) to the president in Lagos ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. The delegation was led by Vice President Kashim Shettima and included several APC governors from across the country.
Speaking on behalf of the governors, Imo State Governor and PGF Chairman, Hope Uzodimma, commended Tinubu’s leadership and economic reforms, stating that the administration had successfully stabilized the country after years of challenges.
Uzodimma said the governors had carefully assessed the president’s performance and unanimously awarded him a perfect score, citing improvements in governance, economic restructuring, and national development efforts.
He further described Tinubu as the architect of a new Nigeria, arguing that the policies introduced by the administration had laid the foundation for long-term growth and stability. According to him, APC governors remain committed to defending and promoting the federal government’s policies across their respective states.
The governors also pledged continued support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing confidence in the direction of the administration and its ability to deliver sustainable progress for Nigerians.
The endorsement comes amid ongoing debates over the impact of the government’s economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and foreign exchange adjustments. While supporters argue that the measures are necessary for long-term recovery, critics have pointed to rising living costs and economic hardship experienced by many citizens.
Despite the differing opinions, APC leaders insist that the reforms are beginning to yield positive results and will ultimately strengthen the country’s economy.
The show of support from the governors highlights the growing unity within the ruling party as preparations gradually begin ahead of the 2027 general elections, with party leaders positioning Tinubu as the central figure in the APC’s future political strategy.
