Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, President of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, distributed cash gifts totaling at least ₦2.55 billion to staff members during the early hours of Tuesday at the LoveWorld Presidential Staff Awards and Banquet in Lagos.

The event, which drew over 3,000 staff members, saw each attendee who remained at the venue until 4:00 a.m. receive ₦850,000, according to Ambassador Chris Iyama, who documented the proceedings.

The announcement reportedly triggered widespread jubilation among those present, with recipients expressing visible excitement at the scale of the gift.

By the time of reporting, more than half of the eligible staff had received payment confirmations via bank alerts.

Based on the documented attendance of 3,000 staff members, the disbursement amounted to ₦2.55 billion. However, the actual figure may be higher, as reports indicate attendance exceeded the 3,000 mark.

The gesture has generated significant reactions across social and traditional media platforms, with observers praising the church leader’s approach to staff appreciation.

The annual awards ceremony is part of LoveWorld Incorporated’s staff recognition programme. The organization, which operates numerous branches globally, has previously held similar events to acknowledge its workforce.

Representatives of the church had not issued an official statement on the total amount distributed or the number of beneficiaries at the time of publication.
