Inter Lagos have secured promotion to the Nigeria Premier football league (NPFL) for next season with two games left after beating Heartland 2-1 at the Mobolaji Johnson Aren
Bayo opened scoring in the 19th minute only for the visitors to pool one back before team captain Uchenna Njoku scored in the 37th minute to send the Lagos based side to Nigeria top flight football and ensuring that we witness a Lagos derby in the 2026/2027 season
They become the second team to gain NPFL promotion after Doma United and inter achieved this feet after garnering 28 points from 14 matches. With 2 matches to go, Inter have scored 24 goals, conceded 10 in the process and now have 14 goal difference on the log
Beyond Limits FA, who are second on the log, have 25 points from 15 matches and with just a game of possible 3 points to go, they will only need to win by 8-0 and pray that Inter don’t score in their next 2 games and must concede at least 9 goals to concede the ticket to them

* Remo Stars must fight to avoid relegation as Beyond Limits FA will no longer pick the promotion ticket
* Heartland of Owerri who just left NPFL will not return this season
* Imo State may not witness NPFL games next season unless, Kun Khalifat avoid relegation with the 6 games left. They are 20th on the log
