United States President Donald Trump has announced that Iran and Israel have agreed to a ceasefire, marking a potential end to the intense 12-day conflict that has alarmed the international community.
In a statement released late Monday, Trump confirmed that both countries have committed to a phased truce. According to the agreement, Iran will initiate the ceasefire within six hours, followed by Israel 12 hours later. Both parties have pledged to maintain peace and mutual respect during each phase of the ceasefire.
The complete cessation of hostilities is expected to be finalized within 24 hours, effectively bringing the conflict to an official end.
“Congratulations to everyone!” Trump declared. “It has been fully agreed between Israel and Iran that there will be a complete and total ceasefire — starting in approximately six hours. Once each side completes their final military operations, Iran will begin the ceasefire, followed by Israel at the 12th hour. By the 24th hour, the world will salute the official end of the 12-Day War.”

Calling the truce a major diplomatic breakthrough, Trump praised both nations for their resolve and leadership, noting that the war “could have gone on for years and destroyed the entire Middle East — but it didn’t, and never will.”
He added: “God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and God bless the world!”

The ceasefire announcement comes just hours after Trump responded to Iran’s missile strike on the U.S. air base in Qatar, calling the attack weak and ineffective. Trump had emphasized the need for de-escalation and expressed hope that the region could return to stability.
The agreement is seen as a rare diplomatic win in a conflict that many feared would spiral into a broader regional war.
