Prime Minister Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua submitted the collective resignation of the cabinet after an internal performance review found that the government had achieved only about 10 percent of its assigned objectives.

Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue announced the development, stating that the decision reflects the principle that public office must be accompanied by measurable results and accountability.

According to government officials, the administration fell short of expectations despite having access to the necessary financial, human, and material resources to execute its programmes.

The resignation is expected to pave the way for a major cabinet reshuffle as President Obiang moves to appoint a new team to drive his administration’s development agenda.

Authorities said the government had also failed to make significant progress in diversifying the country’s oil-dependent economy, accelerating development projects, and improving public sector efficiency.

The move has drawn attention across Africa, with political observers describing it as one of the most significant government overhauls in Equatorial Guinea in recent years.

President Obiang, who has led the country since 1979, is expected to announce a new cabinet in the coming days as the government seeks to improve performance and deliver on its national development objectives.
