A Vision Driven by the “3Rs”
Outlining his strategic vision, Senator Nwokocha introduced a bold three-pronged agenda known as the “3Rs”: Reconnect, Reinvest, and Reposition, aimed at revitalizing the association and amplifying its influence.
• Reconnect: He emphasized the need to strengthen bonds among alumni through digital platforms, regular reunions, and the establishment of active regional chapters. These efforts will foster stronger intergenerational and cross-continental engagement.
• Reinvest: Central to his plan is the mobilization of alumni resources, expertise, and influence in support of the university’s academic advancement, infrastructural development, and global reputation.
“Together, we will channel our shared potential to drive the excellence that UNIPORT stands for,” he affirmed.
• Reposition: Senator Nwokocha envisions a redefined alumni association that plays an active role in national development. He aims to position the association as a key player in civic engagement, thought leadership, and socio-economic transformation.
“It’s time to reposition UNIPORT Alumni as a beacon of influence—a strategic force in Nigeria’s growth story,” he said.

From Public Service to Transformational Leadership
With a distinguished career spanning the Abia State House of Assembly and the Nigerian Senate—most recently serving as Senate Minority Whip—Senator Nwokocha brings decades of legislative experience and a proven record of public service.
He noted that his time in government has uniquely equipped him to lead transformative initiatives within the alumni community.
“This association is more than a network; it is a movement—to redefine alumni engagement, mentor future leaders, and champion the excellence that defines UNIPORT,” he declared.
Senator Nwokocha also underscored his commitment to ending years of stagnation and disconnected leadership, promising a proactive and inclusive administration that will harness the collective strength of its members.

A Strong Mandate, a Clear Path Forward
Senator Nwokocha’s election reflects a broad desire among UNIPORT alumni for visionary, results-driven leadership. His agenda has already begun to inspire confidence and renewed interest across the alumni body.
The newly elected executive team is set to unveil a comprehensive action plan in the weeks ahead. A high-level inaugural summit and stakeholder engagement forum is also scheduled for later this year to outline strategic initiatives and foster deeper alumni participation.
