President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, as Chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) as part of a fresh round of appointments into federal agencies and government institutions.
The appointments, announced by the Presidency, also include the naming of 25 other individuals to serve in various capacities across key federal agencies, boards and commissions.
According to the Presidency, the appointments are aimed at strengthening governance, improving service delivery and enhancing the performance of strategic institutions responsible for implementing government policies and programmes.
The newly appointed officials are expected to provide leadership, policy direction and oversight in their respective agencies in line with the administration’s development agenda.
The Rural Electrification Agency plays a critical role in expanding electricity access across Nigeria, particularly in rural and underserved communities, through the deployment of grid and off-grid power solutions.
The latest appointments form part of the Tinubu administration’s ongoing efforts to fill vacant leadership positions in federal institutions while repositioning government agencies to achieve greater efficiency and accountability.
The appointees are expected to assume their responsibilities in accordance with the relevant laws and procedures guiding their respective offices.
