The second edition of the Dreamland U-19 Scouting Tournament kicked off on Monday at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba, with six exciting fixtures producing plenty of action as participating teams began their quest for glory.
In Group A, Dreamland Academy secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Abia Warriors U-19 in a fiercely contested encounter. Kalu James scored the decisive goal, ensuring Dreamland claimed all three points in their opening match.
The second Group A fixture saw Benede United of Port Harcourt cruise to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Okwu United. Goals from Afam Samuel and Precious Onyekaba sealed the win, sending Benede United to the top of the group, closely followed by Dreamland Academy.
Group B produced a mixed bag of results. Enyimba U-19 and Abia Sports Fest settled for a goalless draw in a closely fought contest, while Foster FC edged Ave FC 1-0 thanks to a brilliantly taken rebound effort. The victory leaves Foster FC at the summit of Group B after Matchday One.
In Group C, Uchecaria FA snatched a dramatic 1-0 victory with Amari Daniel netting a stoppage-time winner to hand his side maximum points. Travelling Football Academy also began their campaign on a winning note, defeating Aba Football Club 1-0 in an entertaining encounter. The results see Uchecaria FA and Travelling Football Academy jointly lead Group C ahead of what promises to be an exciting Matchday Two.
The Dreamland U-19 Scouting Tournament, supported by the Abia State Government under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti, is aimed at discovering exceptional young football talents and creating opportunities for them to secure professional careers abroad.
The tournament will run until July 10, 2026, with Matchday Two fixtures scheduled to continue on Tuesday at the Enyimba Stadium, Aba, starting from 8:00 a.m.
