Former presidential candidate and activist Omoyele Sowore on Monday openly mocked former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami during a court appearance at the Federal High Court in Abuja, declaring that the same justice system Malami once defended was now turning against him.
In a video that quickly went viral online, Sowore was seen addressing Malami directly, saying, “You see how it feels now to be persecuted. When you were with Buhari at that time, you were bragging. We warned you then that there is failure in the justice system, but you didn’t listen, and now the system is dealing with you.”
Sowore added that the flaws in Nigeria’s justice system had now become evident even to those who once held power. He further remarked, “There is failure in the system. The system is dealing with you now.”
The activist also made a symbolic gesture by offering Malami what he described as a “revolutionary cap,” while acknowledging the former minister’s composure during the encounter.
Responding briefly, Malami said he remained strong and committed to attending all court sittings related to his legal matters.
The dramatic exchange has since generated widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians viewing it as a reversal of fortunes for one of the most powerful legal figures under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
