The Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to upholding its constitution and ensuring internal democracy, declaring that indiscipline and anti-party activities will have no place in the ADC.
Speaking through party chieftain Sen. Abubakar Sadiq Yar’adua—a former Katsina Central senator under the All Progressives Congress (APC)—Mark made the remarks at a meeting of the ADC’s Coalition Partners held in Kaduna over the weekend.
Mark stressed that the lack of internal democracy has been a major cause of poor governance in Nigeria, and pledged that the ADC is working hard to create a truly level playing field for all members. He applauded the Kaduna State leadership of the party for setting an example for others to follow, urging members and coalition partners to stay united, as “it will no longer be business as usual.”
On party membership registration, he assured that the process will be free, fair, and credible, with mechanisms in place to prevent manipulation and protect the integrity of the party.
Kaduna State ADC Chairman, Elder Patrick Ambut, revealed that since the coalition’s unveiling, the party’s membership has been growing steadily. He criticized the current state of Nigeria under APC leadership from 2015 to date, describing the nation as being in “political, economic, social, and psychological quagmire.” According to him, the ADC-led coalition offers a genuine platform for political change.

Former APC chieftain Salihu Lukman, now with the ADC, echoed these sentiments, stating that the APC has failed Nigerians in delivering good governance. He noted the worsening poverty, insecurity, and hunger across the country, and called on citizens to embrace the change the ADC seeks to bring.
With these strong declarations, the ADC is positioning itself as a party determined to restore transparency, fairness, and true democratic values to Nigeria’s political landscape.
