The people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency deserve answers. Public office is a sacred trust, and every naira allocated for constituency projects belongs to the people. It is not a personal gift to any elected representative. These funds are meant to bring development to our communities through roads, schools, healthcare, youth empowerment, electricity, and other life-changing projects.
Hon. Obi Aguocha was elected to represent the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. That mandate comes with a responsibility to be transparent, accountable, and committed to the welfare of the constituents. Representation is measured not by speeches but by visible and verifiable results.
Today, the people are asking one simple but important question: Where is our constituency project fund? If funds have been allocated and released, the people deserve to know how they have been utilized. Every project should be identified, properly documented, and made available for public inspection. Accountability should never be hidden behind silence.
Our communities still face enormous developmental challenges. Many roads remain in poor condition, schools need improvement, healthcare facilities require greater support, and many young people continue to search for opportunities that seem out of reach. These realities naturally lead citizens to ask how public resources meant for constituency development are being managed.
As citizens, we are not making accusations. We are exercising our democratic right to demand transparency. Asking questions about public funds is not an act of hostility; it is an act of responsible citizenship. Democracy thrives when leaders are accountable to the people they were elected to serve.
If constituency projects have indeed been executed, there should be no difficulty in presenting the facts. Let the project locations be published. Let the contract values be disclosed. Let the contractors be identified. Most importantly, let the people visit these projects and see the impact for themselves. Transparency removes doubt and strengthens public confidence.
The era when elected officials could operate without giving an account to the people is gradually coming to an end. Nigerians are becoming more aware of their rights and are demanding value for every public fund spent. The people of Ikwuano/Umuahia deserve nothing less than honest, open, and responsible representation.
We also respectfully call on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), along with every relevant oversight institution, to continue carrying out their lawful responsibilities wherever there are credible concerns regarding the management of public resources. Public officials should always be prepared to explain how public funds entrusted to them have been utilized, in accordance with the law.
Hon. Obi Aguocha has an opportunity to reassure the people by openly presenting a comprehensive account of all constituency projects and expenditures. Doing so would strengthen public trust and demonstrate the transparency and accountability expected of every elected representative.
The people are not asking for too much. We are simply asking for what rightfully belongs to us: development, transparency, accountability, and responsible representation. Our money is our right. Our constituency deserves progress. Our voices deserve to be heard.
Hon. Obi Aguocha, the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency are asking one clear question: Where is our constituency project fund? If the funds have been spent, kindly show us the projects. If the projects exist, let the people see them.
Accountability is not a favour; it is your duty to the people who entrusted you with their mandate.
