Arsenal have officially signed Danish midfielder Christian Norgaard from Brentford ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
The 31-year-old joins the Gunners after a successful six-year stint at Brentford, where he made 196 appearances across all competitions 122 of them in the Premier League scoring 13 goals and providing 18 assists. He captained the West London club during the 2023/24 season.
Norgaard began his professional career in Denmark with Lyngby, then moved to Hamburg in Germany at 18, before returning to Denmark to play five seasons at Brondby. There, he made 147 appearances, scored 12 goals, won the Danish Cup in 2018, and was named Player of the Year in 2017.
After a brief spell in Italy with Fiorentina, Norgaard joined Brentford in 2019 and played a key role in their historic promotion to the Premier League. Last season was his most prolific, netting six goals from a defensive midfield role.

At international level, Norgaard has earned 35 caps for Denmark since his debut in 2020.

Reacting to the signing, Arsenal Sporting Director Andrea Berta said,
“Christian is a consistent performer with leadership, tactical intelligence, and versatility. We’re happy to have him on board.”
Manager Mikel Arteta added,
“Christian brings experience, character, and balance to our squad. He will be a valuable addition both on and off the pitch.”
Norgaard will wear the number 16 shirt and is set to join the team for pre-season immediately. The transfer is subject to final regulatory approvals.
