The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Olufemi Soneye, has officially resigned from his position.
In a statement made available to National Concord on Saturday, Soneye announced his decision to step down, citing the need to devote more time to his family and personal responsibilities.
βIt has been a profound honour to serve both the company and our country, and to contribute in my own way to the ongoing transformation of NNPC Ltd,β he stated, expressing gratitude for the support and collaboration he received during his tenure.

Soneye, who was appointed in August 2021, served as the spokesperson for the national oil company for nearly two years. During this time, he played a key role in shaping the public image of the organisation amid its ongoing reforms and strategic repositioning.
In his farewell message to colleagues, Soneye praised their professionalism and dedication, urging them to continue their constructive reportage in support of NNPCβs mission and its role in shaping Nigeriaβs energy future.

βI remain a steadfast supporter and ambassador of NNPC Ltd wherever I go,β he said.
As of press time, NNPCL has yet to announce a replacement for the position.
