Chelsea

Chelsea FC have once again emerged as the biggest spenders on agents’ fees in the Premier League, splashing £65.1 million over the past year.

The figure, covering February 2025 to February 2026, places Chelsea at the top of the spending table for the third consecutive year, underlining the club’s aggressive transfer and contract strategy.

Across the league, clubs collectively paid a record £460 million to intermediaries a 13 per cent increase from the previous year — reflecting rising costs tied to transfers, player negotiations, and contract renewals.

Trailing Chelsea are Aston Villa FC with £38.4m, followed by Manchester City FC (£37.4m), Liverpool FC (£33.9m), and Arsenal FC (£32.1m).

Despite the heavy spending, Chelsea’s financial position remains under scrutiny after the club recently posted one of the largest losses in Premier League history, driven largely by its expansive squad overhaul and transfer activity.

Analysts say the continued surge in agent fees highlights the growing financial pressures within elite football, with clubs balancing competitiveness on the pitch against stricter financial regulations off it.
