The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Abia Central Senatorial District, Hon. Emeka Atuma, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to party stakeholders and members for electing him as the party’s flag bearer for the 2027 senatorial election.

Speaking during a thank-you meeting at his campaign office in Umuahia, Atuma thanked APC faithful across the Abia Central Senatorial District for the confidence reposed in him, assuring them that he would work tirelessly to secure victory for the party in the forthcoming general election.

“I thank you all for finding me worthy to fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress for Abia Central Senate,” Atuma said.

He described the APC ticket as a formidable platform for electoral success and expressed confidence that the party would make significant political gains in the district in 2027.

According to him, the APC remains united and committed to building an inclusive political family that accommodates every member, irrespective of the role they played during the primary election.

Drawing inspiration from the biblical parable of the workers in the vineyard, Atuma said every party member would be treated equally, whether they supported his aspiration or not.

“We have decided that only one person can emerge, but we will not push away our brothers. This victory belongs to all of us,” he stated, urging members to close ranks and work together for the success of the party.

The APC candidate commended grassroots members for their dedication and loyalty, describing them as the backbone of the party’s growing influence across Abia Central.

He also appreciated the party leadership for conducting what he described as a transparent and successful primary election, reaffirming his readiness to lead the APC into the 2027 campaigns.

“We are standing on a solid foundation to win this election. We came prepared, and we can match any political opponent in terms of strategy, organisation and campaign,” he declared.

Atuma further called on party faithful to remain steadfast and united as preparations for the general election gather momentum, expressing optimism that the APC would emerge victorious in Abia Central and strengthen its political presence across Abia State.

Also speaking at the event, the APC candidate for the Isialangwa North/South Federal Constituency, Chief Uzoma Ihuka, urged the people of the South-East to embrace mainstream national politics, warning that the region could continue to miss critical development opportunities if it remained politically isolated.

He said the South-East must strategically reposition itself to play a more active role in national governance rather than remaining on the sidelines.

Several party leaders and stakeholders delivered goodwill messages, including Ike Anyatonwu, who spoke on behalf of Isialangwa North and South; Nnamdi Amala Nwosu, representing Osisioma; Chuks B. Oriaku; and Prince Tony Eze, who represented Ikwuano/Umuahia.

Also addressing party members, Tony Otuonye called for greater unity within the APC, urging members to avoid division and embrace inclusive politics. He noted that the party already has a clear roadmap for victory and encouraged everyone to remain committed to its collective strategy.

Earlier, the Director-General of the Emeka Atuma Campaign Organisation, Hon. Chidi Nwosu, thanked party members for their overwhelming support during the primary election, expressing confidence that the unity demonstrated by APC faithful would translate into victory at the 2027 general election.

Among the dignitaries present at the meeting were the APC Abia Central Zonal Chairman, Prince Anthony Okeh; the APC State Publicity Secretary, High Chief Uche Aguoru; members of the APC State Working Committee; former Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Comrade Eugene Eze Job; and other party leaders and supporters.
