Former Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has claimed that Nigerian internationals Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi relied on what they described as “juju cream” to aid their recovery from injuries during their time together at the Premier League club.

Vardy made the revelation during an episode of his podcast, where he shared behind-the-scenes stories from his years at Leicester City.

According to the former England international, whenever either Iheanacho or Ndidi suffered minor injuries, they would travel briefly to Nigeria and return with what he described as a large container of “juju cream.”

He claimed that the club’s masseuse was instructed to use only the ointment on the affected area, adding that the Nigerian players told teammates it had been prepared by a “Nigerian witch doctor.”

Vardy said the unusual treatment became a regular topic of conversation within the squad because of the confidence the Super Eagles duo had in the ointment’s effectiveness.

The former Leicester captain played alongside Iheanacho and Ndidi for several seasons after both Nigerians joined the Foxes. During that period, the trio helped the club win the FA Cup and the Community Shield.

Neither Iheanacho nor Ndidi has publicly responded to Vardy’s remarks.

Ndidi currently plays for Turkish side Beşiktaş, while Iheanacho is with Scottish champions Celtic after leaving Leicester following the expiration of his contract.
