Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has raised eyebrows with comments suggesting a possible defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following concerns about the party’s future.
Speaking at a constituency outreach event in Ukanafun, Eno likened the PDP to a faulty aircraft, hinting at the possibility of switching to another party, likely the All Progressives Congress (APC). This comes amid growing discontent within the PDP, including high-profile defections like that of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Despite his concerns about the party’s direction, Governor Eno reassured his supporters that his focus remains on governance and service delivery.
During the outreach, he distributed grants and support packages to over 400 constituents, including traders, farmers, and business owners.

While Eno has not formally announced any party switch, his remarks have intensified speculation about the political landscape in Akwa Ibom and beyond.
