The affected DisCos are Abuja, Eko, Enugu, Ikeja, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, and Yola were penalized following a review of billing practices from July to September 2024, which showed non-compliance with the monthly energy caps set by the commission.
NERC stated that the fines represent 5% of the total overbilling during the period. In addition, the DisCos are required to issue credit adjustments to all affected customers by May 15, 2025.
