President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to commission the newly reconstructed Port Harcourt Road in Aba, Abia State, on October 3, 2025.
Governor Alex Otti disclosed this on Thursday, September 11, during the Aba Security Trust Fundraising Luncheon organized in his honour by the Aba business community. He revealed that alongside Port Harcourt Road, the President will also commission six other rehabilitated roads across the city.
According to Otti, the road projects form part of his administration’s commitment to revamping Aba’s infrastructure and restoring the city’s economic vibrancy.
The governor further announced that his government has finalized agreements with Radisson Blu for the redevelopment of the historic Enyimba Hotel. He assured stakeholders that construction work would commence soon, a move expected to boost the state’s hospitality sector and attract fresh investment.
Business leaders, including Chief Leo Ike Okoye, Ide John Udeagbala, and Mazi Jude Nwosu, praised the governor’s infrastructural drive, noting that Aba’s economic revival is now both visible and tangible.

Meanwhile, heavy construction equipment has already been deployed to the Enyimba Hotel site, with site clearing activities underway in preparation for the redevelopment project.
