OPINION: The Governor Abia Deserves: Why Abia Needs a Godly and Visionary Leader – By Apostle Reminder C. Gad

Good evening, Ndi Abia.

Abia is called God’s Own State. But is God truly reigning in God’s Own State?

For too long, we have had managers, not leaders. Men who have everything in the showcase, but nothing in the cupboard. The result is before us – high cost of living, low standard of living, and a people groaning.

The question is no longer who wants to be Governor. The question is – What kind of Governor does Abia deserve in this season?

This evening, I want to submit to you, the qualities of the befitting Governor Abia needs.

Number One: He Must Be Godly.

In a State that bears the name of God, the chief shepherd must be a child of God – born again, filled with the Holy Spirit. Leadership begins and ends with God. Any leadership not rooted in God will certainly fail, just as we are witnessing today across Nigeria.

Abia is peculiar. If Abia is God’s Own State, it means God has His own agenda for this state. Therefore, Abia does not need a governor with his own agenda. Abia needs a governor who will align with God to run GOD’S agenda for Abia.

Number Two: He Must Understand God’s Agenda for Abia.

It is not enough to be Godly; he must have depth. He must understand why God called this state His Own. He must be a man of vision who knows that Abia is not just a geographical expression, but a prophetic inheritance.

Number Three: He Must Be a True Servant-Leader.

Genuine leadership is ministry. It is ministering to the well-being of the people, God’s own way. The true test of leadership is not the fine buildings or the long convoy, but the standard of living of Ndi Abia in the market, in the village, in the school.

If the people are suffering, the leader has failed. If the cost of living is rising and the standard of living is falling, that leader is a bad manager. Abia has had enough of bad managers. What Abia needs now is a shepherd.

Number Four: He Must Enshrine Righteousness – The God-Factor.

For a state like Abia, godliness must run through our streets. Zero corruption, beginning from the Governor himself down to the last official. He must enshrine a culture of doing what is right. Righteousness must be the goal and the hallmark of his administration.

This is why Abia deserves a leader like David in the Scriptures, who shepherded Israel with the integrity of his heart.

Let every leader hear this: Leadership is a trust from God. You will give account of your stewardship to Him hereafter. Everyone is answerable to God.

Finally, why does God want to give Abia a David in this new political dispensation?

One: To bring back God to His inheritance.
Two: To minister to Ndi Abia, God’s own people, and restore their dignity.
Three: To prepare Abia in righteousness as a pilot state for His end-time revival agenda.

Conclusion:

Ndi Abia, there are times and seasons. This is God’s time for Abia. This is God’s season to prepare Abia for His end-time purpose.

Therefore, our politicking must not be based on the sweet tongue of politicians or the size of their pockets. It must be based on God’s agenda.

The Church in particular must discern this time and cooperate with God to achieve His purpose.

It is time for righteousness to reign in God’s Own State!

Abia is God’s Own State. Let God have His way in Abia.
