The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Elder Abraham Amah, has debunked reports circulating in the media regarding the alleged expulsion of former Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, and several of his associates over purported anti-party activities.

According to the reports, the PDP leadership was said to have accused Sir Oko Chukwu of secretly endorsing Governor Alex Otti’s 2027 re-election bid and allegedly plotting to defect to the Labour Party. It was further alleged that Oko Chukwu recently held a closed-door meeting with Governor Otti, during which he pledged his support and was promised the Labour Party’s Abia North senatorial ticket.
Responding to these claims during an appearance on Sun FM Aba’s flagship political programme Daily Sun, Elder Amah categorically denied any knowledge of such developments, stating that no official statement had been issued by the party concerning any expulsion.

However, Elder Amah confirmed that Sir Ude Oko Chukwu had been removed from all official PDP communication platforms, including WhatsApp groups and other internal channels, following his recent private meeting with Governor Otti. He noted that while no formal disciplinary action has yet been taken, the state executive committee of the party would soon convene to assess the situation and determine the appropriate course of action.
“I am just hearing it, no official channel from PDP has such story, While no official decision has been made regarding expulsion, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu possibly appears to be on his way out of the party voluntarily ,” Elder Amah remarked.
Meanwhile, Elder Amah also addressed a public disagreement with his brother, Pastor John Amah, who recently praised Governor Alex Otti from the pulpit. Elder Amah accused his brother of using his religious platform for political blackmail, alleging that the cleric publicly maligned him. He stated that his public response was necessary to set the record straight while maintaining he holds nothing against anybody.

Elder Amah reiterated his commitment to the values and discipline of the PDP and assured that any decisions regarding party membership and disciplinary actions would follow due process.
