High Court of Abia State sitting in Aba has ordered government agencies and officials to stay away from the permanent site of Enyimba TV and Radio Limited, pending the determination of a motion on notice filed by the media organization.
Presiding over the matter, the Judge directed the second, third, and fourth defendants in the case—namely the Aba North Town Planning Authority, the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA), and the Director General of Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA)—to stay away the project site until the motion is heard.
The Order follows a suit by the company’s legal team in follows what Enyimba TV and Radio Limited describes as unlawful disruption by state authorities, despite having fulfilled all required procedures and payments prior to construction.
The company contends that the locking of its permanent premises by the state government through GADA, which has lasted nearly a year, is unjustifiable.
Following the devastating fire incident of November 2, 2024, which mysteriously razed all four of its broadcast arms—Enyimba 94.3 FM, Legend 98.3 FM, Rose 101.9 FM, and Enyimba TV—the company has struggled to stay on air. With its permanent facility locked, Enyimba TV and Radio has had no option but to operate from the surviving, burnt-out section of its temporary site, under highly unconducive and difficult conditions.
Till date, there has been no official explanation or findings from authorities regarding the cause of the devastating incident.
According to the Certified True Copy of the court order, the judge warned the listed agencies against any attempt to tamper with the site, stressing that the defendants must maintain the status quo by staying away from the project site until the court rules on the matter.

Enyimba TV and Radio Limited praised the judiciary for standing on the side of justice, describing the order as a beacon of hope for press freedom, due process, and the rule of law.
Despite the setbacks and challenges, the media group reaffirmed its commitment to public service, pledging to continue serving the people of Aba and its environs with dedication and resilience.
The case has been adjourned to October 7, 2025, for further hearing.
