A popular native doctor from Oraifite, Anambra State, widely known as “Man Pass Man” and a recognised leader of the Agunaechemba community security outfit, has sparked widespread conversation on social media after marrying a Filipino Muslim woman just seven days after arriving in the Philippines.
The wedding, which took place at Lourdes Suites, 8429 Kalayan Avenue, Makati City, was witnessed by a gathering of prominent Nigerians based in the Philippines, including members of the Igbo diaspora community who had converged in the country for a major cultural event.
Man Pass Man’s journey to the Philippines began as an invited guest of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Philippines, which hosted its maiden Cultural Day on April 25, 2026, at the Villar Foundation Complex, C-5 Extension, Pulanglupa Uno, Las Piñas City. The event, themed Celebrating the Beauty of Igbo Culture, drew diaspora Igbo leaders, community stakeholders, and guests from Nigeria.

It was during this visit that the native doctor, in what observers have described as a whirlwind romance, met and agreed to marry the Filipino woman taking her as his fourth wife exactly one week after setting foot on Philippine soil.
Man Pass Man is no stranger to public attention back home. Shortly after Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo launched a sweeping crackdown on criminals and fraudulent native doctors operating within the state, Man Pass Man was among those who pivoted away from controversy, subsequently aligning himself with the state government under the Agunaechemba community vigilante security framework a move that earned him a degree of official recognition.
The bride, a Muslim Filipina, is reported to be enthusiastic about the union. Her father, who was visibly emotional with joy at the wedding, publicly gave his blessing to the couple, invoking the name of Allah in prayer over their marriage and declaring he had no reservations about his daughter marrying a Black man from Nigeria.

Speaking to our correspondent at the event, Man Pass Man confirmed he disclosed his identity as a native doctor to his new bride before the wedding. “I properly enlightened her that I was a native doctor, and she was glad to marry me,” he said.
Beyond the wedding, Man Pass Man revealed ambitious plans for his new wife’s future involvement in international trade. He disclosed that arrangements are underway to process a visa for her and relocate her to Nigeria, where she is expected to engage in intercontinental business, shuttling between Nigeria and the Philippines in a bilateral trade capacity.

The ceremony drew a notable turnout from the Nigerian-Igbo community in the Philippines. Among those in attendance were Dr. Chukwudi Obiabumuo, President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Philippines; Juliemorn, CEO of a real estate firm, who was also in the Philippines as a guest at the Ohaneze Cultural Day; and Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme, Majority Leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly, who had similarly been invited to the Philippines by Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Philippines for the cultural event.
The presence of such dignitaries at what began as an impromptu cross-cultural union has added to the intrigue surrounding the story.
Photographs and videos from the wedding have since gone viral across multiple social media platforms, attracting a flood of reactions from Nigerians at home and in the diaspora a mix of amusement, admiration, and debate over the cross-cultural, inter-religious nature of the union.
