Strong indications have emerged that the rift between Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central) and Senate President Godswill Akpabio may have finally been resolved. This follows an official invitation from Senator Natasha to Akpabio and all members of the Senate to attend a series of project commissioning ceremonies in Kogi State next week.
The invitation letter, personally signed by Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, was read aloud by the Senate President during Thursday’s plenary session. In the letter, she invited her colleagues to Ihima, Kogi State, on Sunday, for the commissioning of constituency projects marking her second anniversary as a serving lawmaker.
The letter partly read:
“In marking my second-year anniversary as a serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I wish to invite my Distinguished colleagues to join me for the commissioning of projects in Kogi State.”
According to the letter, the meeting point will be Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s residence at Plot 101, Jimoh Akpoti Street, Ihima, Okene, Kogi State. It also indicated that Senators arriving by air could land at the Obajana Airstrip before proceeding to Ihima by road.
Apparently pleased with the gesture, Senate President Akpabio congratulated her in advance after reading the letter, saying, “Congratulations in advance.”
It would be recalled that both lawmakers had a public fallout earlier this year following a dispute over seat reallocation in the Senate chamber, which led to Natasha’s six-month suspension on March 6, 2025.
Since her reinstatement on September 24, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has resumed full participation in plenary activities, often engaging constructively with the Senate leadership. Notably, she made a key contribution to the debate on the Criminal Code (Amendment) Bill, 2025, where her additional motion was adopted as part of the Senate’s resolution.

Her latest invitation, however, is widely seen as a significant reconciliatory move signaling that the once strained relationship between Natasha and Akpabio has now been fully restored.
