The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 306 suspected drug offenders, prosecuted 64 individuals, and dismantled an illicit methamphetamine laboratory in Ogun State as part of its ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking and substance abuse.
The agency disclosed that the arrests and prosecutions were carried out during coordinated operations aimed at disrupting drug networks and reducing the availability of illicit substances in the country.
According to the NDLEA, operatives uncovered and dismantled a clandestine methamphetamine production facility in Ogun State, recovering equipment and materials allegedly used in the manufacture of illegal drugs.
The agency said the operation represents a significant breakthrough in its efforts to combat the production and distribution of dangerous narcotics, particularly synthetic drugs, which continue to pose serious health and security concerns.
NDLEA officials noted that the arrests were made across various operations targeting suspected traffickers, dealers, and distributors involved in the illegal drug trade.
The agency reiterated its commitment to intensifying intelligence-driven operations, strengthening partnerships with relevant stakeholders, and pursuing offenders through legal channels to curb drug-related crimes.
It also called on members of the public to continue providing credible information that could assist in identifying drug trafficking networks and preventing the spread of substance abuse in communities.
The latest operation underscores the agency’s determination to dismantle criminal networks involved in illicit drug production and trafficking while promoting a safer and healthier society.
