Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has officially completed her six-month suspension from the Nigerian Senate, effective today, September 7, 2025.
Her suspension, which began on March 7, 2025, barred her from plenary sessions and committee activities following allegations of misconduct raised by her colleagues. The Senate, led by President Godswill Akpabio, upheld the decision at the time, citing the need to maintain discipline and protect the integrity of the chamber.

Despite her absence from parliamentary duties, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan remained active within her constituency, spearheading community projects and maintaining public advocacy, while her legal team pursued appeals against the suspension.
With the suspension now concluded, she is set to resume full legislative responsibilities in the Red Chamber. In a statement released earlier today, she expressed appreciation to her supporters and reaffirmed her commitment to the people of Kogi Central.
“This chapter is closed, and I look forward to contributing more effectively to nation-building,” she said.

Although the Senate has yet to issue an official announcement on her reinstatement, sources within the National Assembly confirm that her return is expected to proceed without further delays.
