United States President Donald Trump has claimed that recent military actions by the U.S. have brought an end to the killings of Christians in Nigeria.

Speaking in a video message, Trump said the intervention was aimed at tackling violent extremist groups responsible for attacks on communities and places of worship, insisting that the operations had yielded positive results.

“The killings of Christians in Nigeria have ended. We took action and achieved what many thought was impossible,” Trump said.

The U.S. President reiterated his administration’s commitment to defending religious freedom and protecting vulnerable communities facing violence and persecution around the world.

Trump’s remarks come amid ongoing international discussions about insecurity in Nigeria and concerns over attacks by terrorist groups and other armed actors in parts of the country.

The comments are likely to generate reactions from Nigerian authorities and security analysts, who have consistently described the country’s security challenges as complex and affecting people across different religious and ethnic backgrounds.
