Former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has categorically denied social media reports claiming he accused his successor, Governor Alex Otti, of taking credit for projects initiated under his administration specifically the 46.36km Umuahia-Abiriba Road.
In a statement issued by his media office, Dr. Ikpeazu described the viral reports as completely false and malicious.
“We wish to state unequivocally that at no point did Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu make such statements, nor any of the other remarks being falsely attributed to him online,” the statement read.
“This clarification has become necessary as it is now imperative to make examples of individuals who may not fully grasp the legal consequences of spreading misinformation.”
The former governor emphasized that since leaving office, he has moved on to personal pursuits and has refrained from making public comments unless necessary.
“Since exiting office, Dr. Ikpeazu has focused on private engagements. He has only authorized public statements when absolutely required primarily to address or clarify issues formally raised by the current state administration. Even then, such instances have been rare,” the statement concluded.

Dr. Ikpeazu called on the public to disregard the unfounded claims circulating on social media, reiterating his commitment to supporting the state’s development regardless of political affiliations.

Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
