The Deputy General Manager Abia state Environmental protection agency (ASEPA) Aba Zone, Elder Okezie Ezengwa has charged private refuse collectors in Aba popularly called “Inawii” to collaborate with the Agency to ensure proper and regular cleanliness of the commercial city.
Elder Ezengwa who made the call at the Agency’s office at Ministry of Works premises, Ikot Ekpene road, Aba while addressing the private refuse collectors and ASEPA buckets minders warned that the Agency will no longer tolerate indiscriminate dumping of refuse at unauthorized places by the private refuse collectors.
He disclosed that the Agency has made arrangements for her compactor-trucks to receive refuse collected by the private refuse collectors free of charge and warned that anyone caught violating this directive will be arrested and prosecuted at the environmental courts.
The DGM ASEPA Aba Zone directed the private refuse collectors to form a union with a view to enforce this directive amongst their members and also expose non-members who dump refuse indiscriminately in the city.

He urged members of the public not to give any staff of the Agency money at the refuse receptacles or dumps, stressing that any bucket minder caught demanding money from the public before allowing them to drop their refuse will be shown the way out instantly.
